We are the foundation
of Saint John of Kronstadt
Our foundation was named in honour of the Righteous Father John of Kronstadt, venerated by the Orthodox Church.
Following Saint John's example, our volunteers began to go where homeless people congregate - under bridges, in gazebos on the Atlantic oceanfront, in the lobbies of underground stations - and offer any help they needed. We distribute hot meals several times a week, sometimes clothes and shoes; we try to respond to individual requests: some people may need to bathe, others - to do laundry, still others need medication, and so on.

Unoficially, we are working since 2003, when we rented a makeshift appartment to house homeless.
About Orthodoxy
We know that only God can give us hope that will not deceive, fail or disappoint, and therefore we are always ready to help those who are ready and ask us for it to find their way to the temple. Our foundation works closely with the patriarchal parishes of the Russian Orthodox Church in the United States, and we have good relations with a number of parishes of the Orthodox Church in America, as well as the Antiochian Archdiocese and other jurisdictions of canonical Orthodoxy represented in the country.
Our Homeless Shelter
In 2017, our foundation opened a 12-bed shelter for the homeless in the Coney Island neighborhood. Here formerly homeless men receive everything they need and undergo a rehabilitation program, after which they may lead a sober lifestyle, have a permanent job and pay for the housing on their own.
A Church for the Homeless
In 2018, a chapel in honor of St. John of Kronstadt was built inside the House of Labour, which has now turned into a house church where regular services are held by Father Maxim Pliskov, a priest of the Russian Orthodox Church.
